Day +1= Life

“As you live your days, so craft your life”- Robin Sharma.

Life can become overwhelming at times, the one solution I have found is to focus on just the day. By this you have a sense of having control over your life and emotions.

Instead of dealing with plethora of thoughts, focusing on the day and achieving critical stuff can have a great impact on our lives.

The hero this week Listened, read and tried some important stuff, and he loves to share his new found knowledge with you.

Make 2024 Your Best Year: Ditch The Hustle Culture & Achieve Your Dreams | Ali Abdaal & Cal Newport – YouTube

I have been following Ali Abdaal for over three years now. I bought his recently published book, and I enjoyed this talk with Cal.

Some highlights:

The three energizers of feel-good productivity: play, power, and people

How play is about having a light and curious attitude towards work

How power is about having autonomy and progress in what you do

How people is about connecting and collaborating with others

Watch it to learn more about productivity.

Communication:

Has anyone told you some really mean things and then add a lame “Oh I was just joking?” But you are upset. Then you can reply in these three ways:

-Then be funnier

(This will imply that they lack humour)

-I’m surprised by that

( They won’t know what to say to you)

-It does not sound like a joke; it sounds like an issue.

(hint: keep your knuckles clenched)

Worthy Reading:

I am reading The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris.

If I was 1% of Teddy Roosevelt I would achieve so many things. This is for ambitious people. This book is a must for people who want to explore a life well lived.

Warning: He will make you guilty if you are living a mediocre life.

What I learnt this week?

When everything is a mess, then have a reset day:

How to go about it?

1) Have a phone fast for half a day

2) Journal about your future days.

3) Read a motivational book or movie or listen to songs

4) Don’t do anything.

Before you know it you will get back to your routine.
