I always believed that Literature can be therapeutic, a cure for the eventual blues of our life. I’ve felt happier and confident when I read some poems and was jubilant to notice a person using Poetry to treat people’s mental and emotional disputes. Yes, someone actually has a poetry clinic and the book is called Poetry Pharmacy. The author has compiled poems of different topics or symptoms, as he calls it, ranging from heartbreak, anguish, love and pain and so on, with each poem listed under one or two symptoms, insisting on memorizing and cherishing poetry. The book also deals with anxiety and unrequited love. Sieghart’s preface introduces the poems in a brand new way.The author has tried to incorporate a variety of poets. If you are new to Poetry, then you might be interested in this collection. But a good advice would be not to read this book immediately. Like any medicine, take it appropriately for the right symptom. I would give 4/5 for this wonderful collection.Now, some useful ideas from the book:1) Poetry is supposed to be read aloud.2) Memorize the poems for they will help you in difficult times.3) Cherish words!You can get the book here.
