Time for a change- A Review of Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday

INLIT-EGO is the enemy

This book is a working of a man who has seen it all and done it all. In one book the author showcases how people can be so full of themselves that it’s nauseous and yet how to feel special for just being yourself, to be unique and given this chance not to be “the best” but the best version of you.

The author through his series of reviews of some of the successful (questionable) people who had their lives ruined because they let their ego’s run wild. Fortunes lost, legacies destroyed, lives tumbled and to be brought to their knees cause of their ego’s. As humans we all love to be appreciated, to be praised and to be loved and liked by our peers. That affirmative that one is special is a drug but do we need to be special and above everyone else to make a difference? Do we need confirmation from anyone for our self worth? or Ego to fuel narcissistic tendencies to be better than anyone we know?

Or do we just begin? No man has achieved anything unless he began somewhere. Began to work on himself, began to do good, to work, work , work so hard that all the affiliations and affirmatives in life followed pursuit. The author also highlights the people in the other end of the spectrum the ones who hated being in the spotlight are the ones most deserving. How some people who kept their ego’s in check and who let their focus and work do the talking found their way to true greatness.

So Let’s all run our race at our own pace whether through short sprints or long marathons it doesn’t matter as long as we keep running.

Not a book for people who aren’t into advices but people who believe it’s time for a change

” To whatever you aspire – ego is the enemy To whatever you have achieved – ego is the enemy

And to whatever failure and challenges you will face- ego is the enemy.

Yours truly Former egomaniac
