Still working...

I came from a family that looked middle class but was actually poor.

I came from a family that looked middle class but was actually poor.

Every month was a struggle.

Food, school fees, and a big, big family to feed.

My dad struggled all his life.

He looked rich and powerful on the outside, but he struggled to keep up with life’s demands.

I realised this last week.

I took my nieces out to a nearby place.

It was a small thing, but I noticed how much they enjoyed it. Did I enjoy my childhood like them?

In my own life, my dad perhaps once or twice had taken us out. Otherwise, nowhere.

Then it struck me.

I should help these kids have more memories than I ever had.

I should strive to earn more, live well, and make plenty of memories.

After all this time, my dad’s dedicating his life to working for others does not cross our minds.

Sure, he worked for us and the family, but once he was gone.

Family and Company did not care.

In truth,

All our lives will end up as memories. Let’s create and record more memories with out loved ones.

PS: Now planning vacations!
